With her work for Zeppelin Station’s style pop-ups, attending Parsons School of Design for fashion design, modeling with nearby photographers, and a fantastic personal style, Samantha Rivera has delved into Denver’s fashion scene to deliver greater creativity to the city’s fashion enterprise. Rivera has won enjoyment in all components of the ever-converting industry, from being both in front of and at the back of the camera lens to sketching wedding ceremony clothes at a younger age, to helping create a style begin-up; there is no denying that she hopes to keep to work in the field a long way into the future.
“I’ve usually regarded my desire to be in fashion because I became very young. I honestly like learning human beings’ memories and using fashion to translate that story,” Rivera said. Her ardor for fashion, beginning at a younger age, has pushed her to keep within the industry these days.
303 Magazine: How did you get into fashion individually and as a process?
Samantha Rivera: I’ve acknowledged I wanted to do something in fashion because I was little. I like comic strip out wedding attire after I became more youthful and thought I desired to be a marriage get-dressed dressmaker. I went to high school for style layout, but now I’m doing a certificate program with Parsons. That’s where all of it started for me. In high school, I sensed as all of us turned into the form of installed a field, and now I’m looking to challenge the norms that got here from that.
303: How could you describe your non-public fashion?
SR: I experience like I can either be girly or seem like the contrary. I’m a touch bit androgynous; I wear my boyfriend’s stuff all the time. Like Billie Eilish, I love her style and the outsized look she has with the entirety she wears. I suppose I want to appear tough and tender. I choose to thrift often, too, so that’s wherein lots of my fashion comes from.
303: Tell us about your modern jobs and involvement in Denver’s fashion scene?
SR: I work for Eyes Open at the Source Hotel, and because it’s a startup, they wanted greater help. I was given to installation image shoots, and that opened several doorways. I work at Zeppelin Station, running the market corridor, and helped set up a shop at the Source Hotel. At Zeppelin station, though, we have pop-united states of America every three months and rotate featuring a unique town’s fashion. So, I assist with that. However, I also do income for the three shops we have there and contribute to our content introduction.
303: Growing up in Denver, what do you think about its style community?
SR: I assume developing up in Denver, I became very sheltered in fashion phrases. As a kid, I feel like I began feeling judged by people for what I was cozy in. It wasn’t without a doubt till after excessive faculty that I became added to extra manufacturers and distinct styles, which got my thoughts turning extra. Once I was given to the college in New York, everyone became like, “fuck it.” Nobody cares about you in truth. That’s what I love about New York and different huge cities — I sense like a little ant. I’m just a small person, and people aren’t necessarily seeking to factor something out about me. But in phrases of Denver’s style scene, I genuinely assume it’s simply as much as human beings to make a “style town.”
